We have moved to a new pad!

Lovedubcars have recently moved to a new location, we are still in the village of Middleton St George, Near Darlington but we are currently building a new home which will incorporate a very nice show area for all of our lovely VW's.

This does mean however that if you have our old home address (Station Terrace) on a letter head or our old landline telephone number please discard these details as they are no longer in use.

Digby has joined the team!

It appears that we just can't help ourselves! But when you see a fab vehicle that needs some love and attention you have got to do your duty and buy it . . . . . . .

We now have our sixth and final vehicle (Yeah right).

Digby is a 1974 VW Karmann Beetle Cabriolet that will be going through his restoration with Julio, he has been in a garage in Cardiff for the past 15 years without even seeing daylight!

Here are the first pictures of Digby once we had washed all of the dust and dirt off him.

Update....

Digby has been taken back to the metal with all his bits and pieces taken off and boxed up. he is now ready for his new paint job which should take place this weekend (12th - 13th Feb). Once done we will be fitting his new bling, headlights, trim and rubber seals.

His seats have been re trimmed and the matching new door cards are ready to be fitted. The new hood is on route from California and should be with us by the end of the week. One fitted he will be done, once an MOT has been passed (no pressure) we will be taking him out for a spin.

New Update......

Digby is now a very nice shade of white and has all of his chrome bits on, he is looking great. The hood is here and we will fit it this week. There are just a few small jobs of finishing off to sort but updated pictures will be added to this site very soon.

Julio has joined the team:

Big news about a new addition to our team!

We have now welcomed Julio the splitty bus to the team. His restoration has well and truly started and he is now in the hands of Norther Classics and Campers of Darlington. His bench seating is all done as is his headliner. We are looking forward to fitting him all together.

He has been imported from Brazil where he has worked as a taxi for Sau Paulo airport for the past 33 years. We are sure he will be happy for the makeover and a little rest.

These are the first pictures of Julio prior to any restoration taking place.

Julio will match our other vehicles in VW white once the restoration is completed, the interior will be cream & white to match our other buses.

Also check out Julio's strange door combo, three doors down each side! He's a very rare find and will look great when when he is all white and sparkling for the 2011 weddings. 

Tilly's upgrade:

Vintage VW seating was purchased for Tilly during 2010, the bench seating has was covered in white leather and were fitted for the last season.

The seating is now two vintage VW bench seats that have been refurbished in white leather and set so that they face each other. A new wooden floor has also been fitted.

We have now done lots of summer weddings in Tilly while her new seating has been in and the difference is fantastic. Don't tell the others but she is my fave bus . . . you can't beat a Bay window bus.
